How to Filter, Sort, and Export Applications

How to filter, sort and export applications in FORWARD Direct so you can manage your queue efficiently and pull the data you need for review and tracking.

When Should I Use This?


Use these tools when you need to:

  • Find a specific application using the Search Bar or Paste IDs 

  • Filter the queue by Status, Submission Date, Last Contact Date, or Assigned to 

  • Sort applications using Sort by and Order (ascending/descending) 

  • Export applications using the queue Download options


Step-by-Step Instructions


1) Open the Applications queue
  1. Go to the Programs tab. 

  2. Use the Programs / Applications toggle to switch into Applications view. 

  3. Use Program Selection to choose the program you want to work in. 

  4. In the LEFT MENU, choose the queue you want (for example: All Applications, Applications Assigned To Me, or New Communication).


2) Search for applications
  1. Use the Search Bar (magnifying glass icon) to search. 

  2. Use Paste IDs to search by Application ID.


3) Filter the queue
  1. Use Status to view applications within the current status. 

  2. Use Submission Date to filter by preset ranges or by Start date - End Date

  3. Use Last Contact Date to filter by the most recent communication through the communications center. 

  4. Use Assigned to to filter by the person an application is assigned to.


4) Sort the queue
  1. Use Sort by to choose your sorting field. 

  2. Use Order to set ascending or descending.


5) Export applications or clear filters
  1. Use the queue icons:

    • Download to download applications 

    • Download options include downloading all applications or selected applications 

    • Use the Trash icon to clear filters and start a new filter session


Common Mistakes to Avoid


  • Searching for an Application ID using the Search Bar instead of using Paste IDs

  • Forgetting to reset your queue after filtering; use the Trash icon to clear filters before starting a new filter session. 

  • Sorting without checking Order (ascending/descending), which can make the queue look “out of order.”


Best Practices for FORWARD Direct Users


  • Use Applications Assigned To Me when you want a queue that is already focused on your workload before applying additional filters. 

  • Use New Communication to quickly prioritize applicants who have sent new inbound emails, SMS, or calls. 

  • After heavy filtering, clear filters with the Trash icon before starting a new filter session.
