How to Manage the Programs Dashboard in FORWARD Direct

How to use the Programs Screen (the Programs tab) to track programs across your portal, including what’s Draft and what’s Active.

When Should I Use This?

Use the Programs Dashboard when you need to:

  • Find a program quickly using the search bar

  • Track program Status across your portal (including DRAFT and ACTIVE

  • Confirm whether you can Manage Program or Review Applications for a specific program

  • Switch between Programs and Applications using the toggle

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Go to the Programs tab to open the Programs Screen

  2. Use the toggle at the top to switch between Programs and Applications

  3. Use the search bar to locate a program by name.

  4. Review the program list, including the Name of Program and Status columns.

  5. Check the Authorization to a program column to confirm what actions you can take:

    • Manage Program

    • Review Applications

    • Blank (does not have access to the program)

  6. Use the dashboard’s “quick glance” view to see applications in a specific status based on the workflow.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assuming you can access every program you can see. The guide notes program team members can see all programs, but can only access programs they have been assigned to within the Program Team

  • Overlooking the Authorization to a program column. A blank row means you do not have access to that program.

  • Forgetting to use the Programs / Applications toggle and thinking a view is missing.

Best Practices for FORWARD Direct Users

  • Use the Status column to keep your team aligned on what is in progress vs live (for example, Draft vs Active).

  • If a teammate needs to work in a program, assign them within Manage Program → Program Team so they can access it (not just see it in the list).

  • Use the “quick glance” application counts to monitor workflow progress before opening the application queue.
