How to recover deleted programs in FORWARD Direct Portal using Portal Settings.

When Should I Use This?


Use this process when you need to: 

  • Restore a program that was deleted from your portal and is now hidden from program lists

  • Recover a program so its program data and applications are accessible again

  • Review deleted programs for your organization and manage recovery as a Portal-Admin (Organization Administrator)


Step-by-Step Instructions


  1. Confirm you are a Portal-Admin (Organization Administrator) (only Portal-Admins can recover deleted programs). 

  2. Go to Portal Settings (organization-level settings)

  3. In the left sidebar, select Deleted Programs

  4. Review the list of all deleted programs in your organization. 

  5. Find the program you want to recover. 

  6. Click Recover for that program.


Common Mistakes to Avoid


  • Trying to recover a program as a Process-Admin (Program Manager) (Process-Admins cannot recover deleted programs). 

  • Looking for Deleted Programs inside a program’s settings instead of Portal Settings (recovery is managed from Portal Settings). 

  • Expecting the program’s phone number to return automatically after recovery (it is not automatically restored). 

  • Expecting the program to be automatically reactivated after recovery (it is not automatically reactivated).


Best Practices for FORWARD Direct Users


  • Use the role separation as intended: Process-Admins can delete programs they manage, while Portal-Admins can recover deleted programs for their entire organization

  • After recovery, confirm the program is set to Draft and that program data and applications are accessible again before continuing program work. 

  • Plan to set up a new phone number if your program used one, since the phone number is not automatically restored after recovery.

What happens when a program is recovered?

The program becomes visible again, is automatically set to Draft, and program data and applications are accessible again


Is the program’s phone number restored when I recover it?

No. The phone number is not automatically restored and you will need to set up a new phone number

No. The program is not automatically reactivated
